Incompleteness
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 Season 1 of Incompleteness has three episodes. This series was made with the help of an arts grant from Minnesota. Every dollar was put to use. As far as I'm concerned, this series is ready for Netflix or any of the streaming platforms. It begins on a very intense movie set. Apparently, the shoot is not going well, and the director and the writer are not happy. We are soon invited into the lives of three couples. The first couple are the actors from the film shoot. They actually are playing parents to a distraught child. The second couple is the director and his pregnant wife. We find him reminiscing about the past and making videos for his unborn son. The wife is not happy because his movie is eating into their retirement fund. Oh, and the man has colon cancer.
The third couple is the writer, who falls in love with a waitress, and we actually see their whole life in a time-lapse before they even kiss. The writer has also created an algorithm or software that apparently will stop death. Someone is threatening him for it. This gives the whole series its Sci-Fi cred. Season 1 is more about Romance and Drama. Introducing us to these three couples who are connected to each other through the movie they are making. I like how they keep returning to the film set, where they are shooting a very chilling scene. There is a great line they use as well "I'm going to kiss you hard now." Very romantic. I'm hooked on season 1. I can only hope that I get to see a season 2. Technically this show is flawless. The writing, directing, and editing are top-notch. Every actor is a seasoned professional, and if they aren't, they certainly will be. This is a heavy drama story. There are all kinds of secrets and backstories that I need to know about. I want my Season 2!!!! I give this series 4.5 stars. |
