Music from Undeterred
I wasn't all that sure what to expect with this really fast video. The problem is that it isn't really a movie at all, so I decided not to actually put a star rating here. 'Music from Undeterred' is exactly what it claims to be. Music from a production that doesn't exist. Yet. Am I saying it's bad? Nope. Am I rooting for an actual finished film featuring the tunes here? Yes. Is this a film with any kind of story? Not really.

What this actually is, is a video featuring two singers. It's not even a proper music video because most of them contain a story to follow. This video features the singers on a rooftop, and in a studio. It feels like a rehearsal. There really isn't much else to it. The tunes themselves are potential ear worms, and I'd love to see the production they are to go with. Right now though, there is none.

The two sing and move around the rooftop, and sing in a sound room. The song seems recorded well and feels like exactly what I think it is. A number within a bigger story. The two singing are obviously really experienced - because they sound great. I did think the vocal recordings had a little more echo than I'm used to hearing. But what do I know? Maybe these numbers are meant to echo. Maybe they are supposed to be sung in an echo inducing scene.

That's the point. 'Maybe' and 'what-if' are the real stars of this video. Sure the couple sounds great, but what are they singing about? Where's the story? I know a story is coming sometime - but why not wait until there is a little context before sending this video to a reviewer? You'll notice I keep calling it a video, and that's because that's what it is. It's not a film, short film or series. It's a video. If Joseph Villapaz is looking for someone to say it's great so far, keep going... I can do that. It's looking great, keep going. It's just a little early to write anything else.
